Privacy Policy
Your family's information, handled with care.
- We collect only what we need to give you the free tools, deliver what you order, and reply to you.
- We never sell your information and we do not use it for advertising.
- Parents, not children, place orders. We ask for a child's first name only, never a surname or school.
- Analytics are your choice. In the UK, EU and Switzerland they stay off until you say yes. Everywhere else you can turn them off.
- You can ask us to show, correct or delete what we hold about you at any time: insights@quantumleap.llc.
1. Who we are
aiready.family is run by Quantumleap Insights LLC, a company registered in Washington State, USA ("we", "us"). We decide how your information is used, which makes us the "controller" under data protection laws.
This policy covers aiready.family and the tools that are part of it: the free Career Playbook (ai-career-playbook.netlify.app), the Career Explorer (aiready.family/careers), the feedback board, our paid plans and research services, and our investor pages (investors.aiready.family). Our consulting site, quantumleap.llc, has its own privacy policy.
Questions about privacy go to Babith Bhoopalan, our founder, at insights@quantumleap.llc.
2. What we collect and why
We only collect information you choose to give us, plus basic analytics if you allow them. Here is everything, place by place.
| Where | What we collect | Why | Legal basis (UK and EU) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Visiting any of our pages | Pages viewed, how you arrived, rough location (country and city), device and browser type, and which buttons and forms are used (never names or emails), through Google Analytics cookies. | To see which pages help families and fix what does not. | Your consent (UK, EU and Switzerland); our legitimate interests elsewhere. |
| Career Playbook | The answers you choose, such as school year, interests, priorities, worries, subjects, activities and achievements. We do not store them. A few (school year, interests and priority) are counted in Google Analytics, without names. | To generate your personalised Playbook and see which options families choose. See section 4. | Providing the service you ask for. |
| Questions to Mr Thoob (Career Explorer) | The question you type, with emails and phone numbers removed first; the answer Mr Thoob wrote; which careers it matched; how it was asked (typed, an example, a link); the page; the website you came from; your country and region; and whether you are on a phone, tablet or computer. Never your IP address, name or email. | To answer you, to see what families want to know, and to improve the research and Mr Thoob's answers. | Legitimate interests. |
| Answer by email (optional, Career Explorer) | If Mr Thoob could not fully answer and you ask us to email you a fuller answer: your email, your question, the careers it matched, why it was not fully answered, and whether you also asked for occasional research updates. | To research your question and send you the answer; and, only if you ticked the box, to send occasional research updates. | Steps you asked us to take; your consent for updates. |
| Playbook suggestion form (optional) | Your idea, and if you add them, your name, email and your child's school year. | To improve the Playbook and reply to you. | Legitimate interests; consent for the optional details. |
| 90-Day Action Plan order | Your name and email; your child's first name, stage, country, career leaning, interests and worries; your Playbook link; when you accepted the terms and which version. | To write, deliver and revise the plan, and to keep a record of what you agreed to. | Performing our contract with you. |
| Payments (Action Plan, Career Deep-Dive, Practitioner Licence) | Stripe collects your card details directly. We see your name, email, billing country, amount, what you bought and the last four digits of your card. We never see or store your full card number. | To take payment, issue receipts, handle refunds and keep tax records. | Performing our contract; legal obligations for tax records. |
| Career Assistant waitlist | Your email, number of children, country and any Action Plan reference. | To tell you when the Career Assistant opens and apply any credit you are owed. | Your consent. |
| Institution Briefing or Talk Kit request | Organisation and its type, your name, role and email, countries, your question, scope, and any materials or links you share. | To scope, price and deliver the work. | Steps you ask us to take before a contract, then the contract. |
| Feedback board | Your idea or bug report, and your email if you add one. Ideas are shown publicly; your email is never shown. | To decide what to build next and reply to you. | Legitimate interests; consent for the email. |
| Investor pages | The name you enter at the access page, your browser type, and when you viewed the materials. | To control and record access to confidential materials. | Legitimate interests. |
| Emails to us | Whatever you write and your email address. | To reply. | Legitimate interests. |
Please do not send us sensitive information, such as health conditions, that is not needed for what you ask. If you do, we use it only to answer you.
3. Children and young people
Our services are for parents and guardians of young people aged 13 to 22, for young adults themselves, and for schools and advisers.
- Orders come from parents. A parent or guardian places every Action Plan order and gives us their child's details. We ask for the child's first name only.
- Under 13. Our tools are not designed for children under 13 to use alone, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you think a child under 13 has given us their details, email us and we will delete them.
- Teenagers using the Playbook. The Playbook does not ask for a name, email or school, and we do not store the answers. Younger teenagers should use it with a parent.
- Teenagers asking Mr Thoob. Questions are saved without any name, email, phone number or IP address, and we ask everyone to leave personal details out. If a question includes something personal, email us and we will delete it.
- Purchases must be made by an adult.
4. The Career Playbook, the Career Explorer and AI
When you create a Playbook, your answers are sent securely to Anthropic, the company behind the Claude AI model, which writes the Playbook text. We do not save your answers in our database. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, information sent through its API is not used to train its models; Anthropic may keep it for a limited time for safety and abuse monitoring. Please do not type names or other identifying details into the Playbook. Your finished Playbook is kept in your own browser on that device, so you can open it again; it is never sent back to us, and clearing your browser's site data removes it. To keep the Playbook free for every family, each device can make one Playbook a day, and we count how many Playbooks are made from each internet connection each day. That count uses a scrambled code made from your connection's address with a random value that changes daily, so it cannot be turned back into your IP address or linked across days, and it is deleted after two days.
Ask the research. When you type a question into the Career Explorer, the instant answer is worked out in your browser from our published research. To write the plain-words explanation, your question and the IDs of the careers it matched are sent to Anthropic in the same way. Before anything is sent or saved, we remove emails and phone numbers. We keep each question and Mr Thoob's answer, with the details listed in section 2, so we can see what families want to know and make the research and the answers better. We never keep your IP address, and the questions are not linked to you. If many people ask the same question on the same day, we may show the same answer again. Mr Thoob writes a limited number of new answers per visit. Google Analytics, if you allow it, records how a question was asked and what kind of answer it got, never the words. Please do not type names or other identifying details, and if you have typed something you would like removed, email us with roughly when you asked and we will delete it.
If you use voice input, your browser's own speech service (for example Google or Apple) turns your speech into text before anything reaches us.
Career scores and Playbooks are general guidance, not decisions about you. Nothing on aiready.family makes an automated decision with legal or similarly significant effects on you or your child.
5. Who helps us run the service
We use a small number of trusted providers. They handle information only to provide their service to us, under their data protection terms.
| Provider | What they do for us |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Stores orders, requests, waitlist sign-ups, feedback and the questions asked of Mr Thoob (United States). |
| Netlify | Hosts our websites. |
| Stripe | Takes payments. Stripe also uses payment information to prevent fraud and meet its own legal duties, under the Stripe Privacy Policy. |
| Resend | Sends us an email alert when you place an order or request, containing the details you submitted. |
| Google Analytics | Website analytics, only as described in section 10. Google signals and ad personalisation are switched off. |
| Anthropic | Generates Career Playbook text and the Career Explorer's plain-words answers. |
| Our email provider | Runs the mailboxes where we receive your emails and our order alerts. |
We may also share information with professional advisers such as accountants and lawyers, where the law requires it, or with a buyer if the business is ever sold, in which case this policy would continue to protect your information. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising.
6. Where your information is stored
We are based in the United States, and our databases are in the United States. If you live elsewhere, your information is transferred there. Where the law requires it, we rely on the safeguards our providers offer for these transfers, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, or certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its UK extension.
7. How long we keep it
| Information | How long |
|---|---|
| Action Plan orders and briefing requests | 3 years after we last deliver or hear from you, then deleted. Orders that are never paid for are deleted after 90 days. |
| Payment and tax records | 7 years, because tax law requires it. |
| Career Assistant waitlist | Until we tell you it has opened and apply any credit, or until you ask to leave. Deleted within 12 months of that. |
| Feedback and Playbook suggestions | Up to 3 years. You can ask us to remove yours at any time. |
| Investor page access records | 2 years. |
| Questions asked of Mr Thoob | Up to 12 months, then deleted. |
| Orders, requests and sign-ups that fail to save because of a technical problem | Kept so we can reply to you, then deleted within 90 days. If your connection drops, your details wait in your own browser and are sent when you are next online. |
| Answer-by-email requests | Deleted 90 days after we send your answer, unless you asked for research updates, in which case we keep your email until you unsubscribe. |
| Analytics | No longer than 14 months, then deleted by Google. |
| Playbook answers | Not stored by us. |
8. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- see the information we hold about you, and get a copy;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- delete your information, unless we must keep it, for example tax records;
- stop analytics or any use based on our legitimate interests;
- withdraw consent you have given, such as for the waitlist, at any time.
Email insights@quantumleap.llc from the address you used with us. We may ask you to confirm who you are. We reply within 20 working days, and it is free. A parent can make these requests on behalf of their child.
9. Extra details by country
United Kingdom, EU and Switzerland
You also have the right to restrict how we use your information, to object to it, and to receive it in a portable format. If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK, or to the data protection authority where you live.
United States
Depending on your state, you may have the rights to know, correct, delete and opt out described in section 8. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we will not treat you differently for using your rights. Our services are not directed at children under 13, in line with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act.
Canada
You can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Australia
We handle your information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. You can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
New Zealand
You can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.
India
Orders and requests about children under 18 are made by a parent or guardian. Young people using the free Playbook are asked to leave out names, and we do not store their answers. You may correct, update or erase your information, nominate another person to act for you, and raise a grievance with us at insights@quantumleap.llc, which our founder handles. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Data Protection Board of India.
10. Cookies and analytics
We use one set of cookies: Google Analytics, which counts visits and shows which pages are useful. We do not use advertising cookies.
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics | Tells one visit from another so we can count visitors. | Up to 2 years |
| cookie_choice (stored in your browser, not a cookie) | Us | Remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics. | Until you clear it |
| aiready-my-votes (stored in your browser) | Us | Remembers which feedback ideas you have backed. | Until you clear it |
Your choice. If you are in the UK, the EU or Switzerland, analytics cookies stay off unless you accept them. Everywhere else they are on unless you decline. You can change your mind at any time: open cookie settings. You can also block cookies in your browser or install Google's opt-out add-on.
11. Emails we send
We email you about things you asked for: your order, your request, your waitlist place, a fuller answer to a question you asked Mr Thoob, or a reply to your message. We do not send marketing emails unless you have opted in, and every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
12. Keeping it safe
Everything travels over encrypted connections. Our database blocks public access, so the website can add new entries but cannot read anyone's contact details back. Only the small team that runs aiready.family can see orders and requests. No system is perfectly secure, so if we ever have a breach that puts you at risk, we will tell you and the regulators as the law requires.
13. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell people who have ordered or joined the waitlist by email before it takes effect.
